Second Chance Skills Program
Affordable Training Support for Families Who Need It Most
Every dog deserves the chance to learn, grow, and stay safely in their home — and every family deserves support while they work toward that goal. 2024 statistics show that less than 10% of dogs who need training actually receive it.
The Second Chance Skills Program offers reduced-cost training for families experiencing financial challenges, recent adopters who need extra help, and pet parents who are committed to their dog’s progress but temporarily unable to afford full-rate services.
This program reflects Pawfect Partner LLC’s mission: to strengthen the bond between dogs and their people through accessible training.
What This Program Is
Second Chance Skills is a discount program for private training sessions to qualifying households.
It is designed to help dogs who simply need structure, guidance, and consistency — and to help owners who are trying their best but need a little financial breathing room.
This is not a charity service or a free-training program, which means not all applicants will qualify. It is needs-based, and urgent cases will be prioritized.
It is a way to make essential training more accessible during times when families need the support with the overall goal of keeping dogs out of shelters.
Who This Program Helps
You may be qualified for the Second Chance Skills Program if:
You’re facing unforeseen financial strain like the loss of a job, death in the family, caregiving for a loved one, etc.
You recently adopted a dog who needs extra training support with proof of adoption
You are committed to training but cannot currently afford full-rate sessions due to circumstances outside of your control
You’re juggling small kids, their schedules, and untrained dogs
Why This Program Exists
Behavior is one of the leading reasons dogs are surrendered to shelters, and many of those behaviors are preventable with early training and guidance.
Pawfect Partner LLC believes that lack of funds for behavioral help, given that they are loved and well cared for, should never be the reason a dog loses their home or their life.
Second Chance Skills exists to:
keep dogs with the families who love them
prevent unnecessary shelter intake
support overwhelmed owners
build confidence, stability, and safety for dogs
promote responsible dog ownership within our community
When families feel supported, dogs thrive.
When dogs thrive, homes stay whole.

If approved, you will be offered a “pay what you can” training rate up to 60% off the one-hour rate for 2 months. This ensures training remains accessible while still supporting operational costs.
Begin Training
You’ll receive the same care, structure, and professional guidance as any other Pawfect Partner LLC client. After 2 months of training, you will need to reapply to reserve your spot in the program.
Frequently Asked Questions

No. Training is offered at a reduced rate based on need and discount program capacity, similar to “early bird specials” or “senior discounts” — but this one is so that dogs can stay in their homes. You’re still paying for services.

More than anything, immediate need. If there is not sufficient need, or if the reason for training can be managed in the environment long-term, applications may not be approved.
