When training in any retail location, regardless of pet policy, please be respectful of staff and products. If you’re unsure, it’s best to call ahead of time and ask for permission. Some of these locations don’t cater to pets, so bring your own poop bags and enzyme cleaner in the event of an indoor accident. If you’re asked to leave while training, just leave.

Remember to be aware of your surroundings when training outdoors; if your dog is not trained for off-leash recall, consider using a longline for enhanced control and reliability around others, or schedule a training session to go over off-leash skills to practice at home. When training at a dog park, train outside of the actual dog park. Please be respectful of others and never let your dog greet someone else without their permission.

When taking your dog to a dog-friendly restaurant (usually on the patio or outdoor space), it’s important that they are well-mannered and polite. This means no stealing food off the tables, no excessive barking that could disturb other diners, and no jumping up on people nearby. Please be respectful of others and never let your dog greet someone else without their permission.
